State Constitutional Jurisprudence: Decision Making at the New York Court of Appeals
Title
State Constitutional Jurisprudence: Decision Making at the New York Court of Appeals
Description
This is a transcript of the presentation given by Professor Vincent M. Bonventre in 1996 at a conference discussing, among other things, State Constitutional Jurisprudence. Professor Bonventre and Professor Luke Bierman both presented on State Constitutional Jurisprudence: Decision Making at the New York Court of Appeals. Professor Bonventre discusses the courts retrenchment into conservative voting, dissent and conflict between the judges on the bench, and the most recent voting record for 1994 and 1995. Following this analysis, the voting of 1994-95 is compared to that of the court during the Judge Wachtler era in 1990-1991.
