Professor Vincent M. Bonventre analyzes New York Court of Appeals and Supreme Court decisions from 1994-1995 as the pertain to professional responsibility. First are two conflicting decision by the Supreme Court cases regarding the level of protection for free speech in legal advertisements. Next is an analysis of a Court of Appeals case dismissing an attorney complaint as an appropriate remedy for the attorneys repeated violation of the duty of attorney-client privilege. Third is an examination of compensation from a firm and medical malpractice client. Finally, Professor Bonventre pays tribute to two revered members of the Judicial establishment, former Chief Justice Warren E. Berger and former Solicitor General Erwin N. Griswold, both of whom passed away during the year.
